Went to see a film with some of the Motu girls on Saturday . THE HAUMĀNA was a one night showing at the Asian Film Festival. A Hawaiian film about the spirit of hula as well as the difficulties with societies views , personal and cultural significances, especially for the meaning of dance and the history/spirit not to be lost as so often in many cultures it is . I will be sure to keep an eye out for it next year and see some films. I enjoyed it very much and of course in the company of friends and of course what other film festival would you find a snack table with ramen noodles, etc. Afterwards we gathered at Island Style Cafe (off of Santo Rd) to eat. I would recommend it to anyone.....loco moco (huge) , crepes, strawberry/guava cake, and the biggest shaved ice I have ever seen with ice cream and the works.
