Reasoning with a fellow sister we spoke of doubt and fear and how they go hand in hand. These two feed each other to not allow growth in so many areas of our/my existence. Embracing "Challenge" was what she said, I like that.
Someone told me I should post some of my other work that I have , and so here are some quick flicks of some things hanging in my home from the past few years. Embracing challenge!
. This will hopefully inspire me to create some new pieces and share as well.

Hello May
May is here. Soon the sun will stop playing peek aboo around here, which means summer is coming. I look forward to enjoying it, with friends , family and for myself! Hurray for May!!!
My Mother's Day was spent with my grandbaby and daughter at the San Diego Zoo...a special day for my daughter as well, taking her little one to the zoo for the first time. It was pretty amazing to watch her "seeing" things for the first time and oohing and aahing at everything.
Part of the weekend was spent at the Art Fest in Little Italy. It is always a great inspiration to see others work and always gets me fired up to do something.
Heavy Guilt-
I had to take a picture of the Street Art done by Space Invader. I watched a docu-film called "Exit through the Gift Shop" with my son that I learned of this artist and new right away who's it was. The film had many street artist that I did not know of and some I did who are pretty amazing artist and social activist. Space Invader is from Italy I believe.
A beautiful day that ended up with a trip to Urgent Care...boooo, but all is well.
The next few days also consisted of the following..... reflections of life and coming of age ( I don't even know what that means).
Of course the t.v. , media, was all about Osama Bin Laden, mmmmmm.....

Chicano Park
A lovely weekend , enjoyed it spending some time for me! Did some painting and spent some time going down to the Chicano Park Day Celebration, 41st year.
A little history...... 1967 the property now known as Chicano Park was promised to the residence of Barrio Logan and of course with much protest finally was to come to fruition, and in 1973 the first murals were to go up....see this site for more and full information on the history of Chicano Park....www.chicanoparksandiego.com . I truly hope that our/the community can continue to appreciate and respect the park, with time ones always forget the struggles that the elders fought to give all of us and the future something to look forward to and enjoy, to claim as there own in any particular community and self pride.
I fully enjoyed myself creating and editing these images. Loving the youth dancing and preparing to perform traditional dances(don't know where you are going if you don't know where you come from). Vendors ringing bells and selling from there carts. People walking all around General Emiliano Zapata's erected statue in the center of the park while he watches over all of them and they are unaware, and sadly possibly some don't even know who he is. Lowriders (reminiscent of my days in National City growing up and cruisin' on Highland Ave),and the beautiful and powerful murals.
Also went with Autumn and little man Elijah. A wonderful artist pictured, father of the bredren Pablo. Torero? I ask he forgive me for not remembering his name because he is amazing.
Balancing with sound, i will have to have a whole session.
Finally leaving after a few hours and noticing the local corner liquor store/deli and the sign "Home of the Famus Pastrami".....love it.

how do you use this thing?
House and dog sitting for my son while he is out of town, really like a mini vacation for me. I brought some art supplies and am working on a little something, even if it is a little something. I am most happy with creating, the best meditation for me. I definitely am not knocking breathing, prayer, mantras and exercise, all of them together makes for a peaceful me.
I made the little trek down the hall, that really looks like a hotel, to the laundry room. I realized the machines do not take change but a prepaid card that you put money on. I did finally figure it all out. I am very blessed to have a washer and dryer at home these days. I do remember dragging the little one's with the weeks laundry, now that was an adventure!
I am enjoying my few days. I do have to admit I miss my family at home , eehh a little bit.
Oh yes...Happy Earth Day, I believe it is the official day being the 22nd of April. Time for the passport and to see some parts of this beautiful world.
