Acting like a tourist in my home town

This weekend i took some photos of a family friend and extended family (great family by the way). We were to meet up at Seaport Village in the afternoon. I decided I would head down a little early and act like a tourist in my home town and just explore again. Here a just a few images from my day, of course in no particular order. I almost was going to get my fortune told, but naaah. Lobster traps on the pier, the carousel and mimes/street performers( were dream like to me), the cool vintage Coke machine, musicians, and pennies from wishes of the hopeful (wonder what they were?).

Last but not least had to add the Sister Pee Wee's image from Imperial Ave. when i vended at the Cooper Family Juneteenth Celebration ( kind of out of place but wanted to post it anyway.)

Finally. (continued)

Went to the flower fields in Carlsbad for the first time ever after living here all my life. People from all over the world were there visiting the flower fields. I also paid very close attention to who was working them as well, in light of all of the immigration laws trying to be passed, very interesting. Went down the street to pick strawberries as well. So goooood when picked fresh.

A band called the "Reflectacles" hopefully I spelled it right. They do not have an album as of yet but working on one. Saw them at the Adams Ave Roots festival at the end of April. I really dug them. They were all on stage barefoot, loved it.

This is what my birthday consisted of, a back injury on the eve of my birthday. It sucked pretty bad , but I give thanks for the ability to walk. So it has been two months and time to move forward in positive health and mind.

Flowers from my friends and gift box.

When my back was still out i was to assist on a wedding shoot and was in so much pain. It was in La Jolla and when i arrived I see these squirrels everywhere. This photo does not even explain it.

Finally.

I have been MIA for a few months, due to technical difficulties , but I am back. So here are a few images from the past few months. Can't wait to shoot a bit more and post more as well (good, bad or ugly)!!!!!

May Day march from Chicano Park to Downtown San Diego Federal building, as well as protest of new immigration laws. Young and old, support from communities from African American, Filipino and more. The energy was very intense and powerful. Power to the People...
